Executive Summary & Key Takeaways

In response to Unstarred Question No. 1886, answered on December 11, 2025, regarding the upgradation of State Highways posed by Shri Murari Lal Meena, the Minister of Road Transport and Highways (Shri Nitin Jairam Gadkari) stated that the Government receives proposals from State Governments/Union Territories for declaring/upgrading State roads, including State Highways (SHs), as new National Highways (NHs). Decisions are based on the principles of declaration of NHs, connectivity, traffic density, and synergy with the PM GatiShakti National Master Plan (NMP). Currently, there is no proposal to declare SH-02 (Dausa-Kuchaman), SH-78 (Dausa-Kathumar), and Alwar-Rajgarh-Bandikui-Sikandra-Gangapur Highway (SH-25) as NHs. An interchange has been provided on the Delhi-Mumbai Expressway at the junction with NH-921 near Pinan village, which interconnects with SH-78 (Dausa-Kathumar). No interchange has been provided at the junction of the Delhi-Mumbai Expressway with SH-25. Since SH-02 (Dausa-Kuchaman) does not intersect the Delhi-Mumbai Expressway, providing an interchange is unnecessary.
