GOVERNMENT OF INDIA MINISTRY OF CORPORATE AFFAIRS LOK SABHA UNSTARRED QUESTION NO. 5916 ANSWERED ON MONDAY, MARCH 30, 2026 / Chaitra 09, 1948 (Saka) Utilisation of CSR Funds in Jaunpur QUESTION †5916. Shri Babu Singh Kushwaha: Will the Minister of CORPORATE AFFAIRS be pleased to state: a) the total amount of funds spent by the companies under Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) in Jaunpur, Uttar Pradesh during the last three years, year-wise and company-wise; (b) the details of the funds spent on various sectors like education, health, environment conservation, rural development, skill development etc. in Jaunpur during the said period, item- wise; (c) whether the Government has data of the projects sanctioned or implemented under CSR in Jaunpur district, if so, the details thereof, location-wise; and (d) whether the Government has set up any mechanism to ensure that the funds spent under CSR be used in an effective manner for local development and strengthening of social infrastructure and if so, the details thereof? ANSWER MINISTER OF STATE IN THE MINISTRY OF CORPORATE AFFAIRS AND MINISTER OF STATE IN THE MINISTRY OF ROAD TRANSPORT AND HIGHWAYS [SHRI HARSH MALHOTRA] (a) to (c): All data related to CSR expenditure filed by companies in MCA21 registry including state-wise, district-wise, year-wise, company-wise and project-wise is available in public domain at www.csr.gov.in. On the basis of annual filings filed by the companies in MCA21 registry, the development sector-wise CSR expenditure in Jaunpur in Uttar Pradesh for the last three financial years (FYs) i.e. 2021-22 to 2023- 24 is at Annexure. There is no provision of sanction of funds in CSR legal framework. (d): The first proviso to Section 135 (5) of the Act provides that the company shall give preference to the local area and areas around it where it operates.
