Will the MINISTER OFHEALTHAND FAMILYWELFAREbe pleasedtostate:
(a) the details of allocation andutilization of funds underJanani Shishu Suraksha Karyakram
(JSSK)inthe country, State/UT-wise includingGujarat;
(b) totalnumberof beneficiaries underthe scheme across the country, State/UTwise;
(c) whether the Government has conducted any recent evaluation of the implementation and effect of the scheme; and
(d) if so, the detailsthereofand if not,the reasons therefor? ANSWER THE MINISTEROFSTATE IN THE MINISTRYOFHEALTH AND FAMILY WELFARE (SHRI. PRATAPRAOJADHAV)
(a) The details of allocation and utilization of funds under Janani Shishu Suraksha Karyakram (JSSK) in the country, State/UT-wise including Gujarat placed at Annexure- I andII
(b) The total number of beneficiaries under the JSSK scheme in the country, State/UT-wise isplacedat Annexure-III
(c) & (d) The Government assesses the effect of JSSK under National Health Mission
(NHM) by undertaking periodic Regional/State level review meetings, field visits in various States/Union Territories (UTs), Common Review Missions (CRMs) and Evaluation of Centrally Sponsored Schemes (CSS) by Development Monitoring and Evaluation Office(DMEO), NITI Aayog.
These reports indicates that a majority of the services under JSSK are being availed by beneficiaries. The evaluation highlights improved access to free and cashless deliveryservices, free drugs and diagnostics, free diet during hospital stay, and free transport facilities for pregnant women and sick infants, which have increased the institutional deliveries and reduced the out-of-pocket expenditure for child birth. This further has contributedinreductionof maternalandneo-natal mortalityinthe country.
