Parliament Question: Vacancies in EMRS

GOVERNMENT OF INDIA MINISTRY OF TRIBAL AFFAIRS RAJYA SABHA UNSTARRED QUESTION NO. 1426 TO BE ANSWERED ON 11.02.2026 VACANCIES IN EMRS 1426 Smt. Mamata Thakur: Will the Minister of Tribal Affairs be pleased to state: (a) faculty and non-faculty vacancies in Eklavya Model Residential School (EMRS) as of 1 November, 2025, category-wise and State-wise details thereof; and (b) number of faculty and non-faculty positions sanctioned in EMRS, category-wise and State- wise details thereof? ANSWER MINISTER OF STATE FOR TRIBAL AFFAIRS (SHRI DURGADAS UIKEY) (a) & (b): 31 teaching posts and 21 non-teaching posts are sanctioned per EMRS for EMRSs with classes upto 12th standard having a full strength of 480 students. NESTS carried out its first drive for direct recruitment of 10391 posts through ESSE-2023 and selected teaching and non-teaching staff have been posted in various EMRSs. The notification for recruitment of 7267 teaching and non-teaching posts through ESSE – 2025 has also been issued. In addition to the direct recruitment, NESTS also has advised State Governments to depute staff on deputation. Further, directions have been issued to State EMRS Societies to engage guest teachers against vacancies, and non-teaching staff on outsourcing basis/local engagement, so that academic activities are not hampered. *******
