GOVERNMENT OF INDIA MINISTRY OF FINANCE DEPARTMENT OF REVENUE RAJYA SABHA UNSTARRED QUESTION NO. 2798 ANSWERED ON 17.03.2026 VACANCIES IN THE INCOME TAX DEPARTMENT OF GUJARAT REGION 2798# SHRI SHAKTISINH GOHIL: Will the Minister of Finance be pleased to state: (a) the number of sanctioned Class I, Class 2, Class 3 and Class 4 posts in the Income Tax Department of Gujarat region; and (b) the number of the vacant posts out of them at present? ANSWER MINISTER OF STATE IN THE MINISTRY OF FINANCE (SHRI PANKAJ CHAUDHARY) (a) and (b): With effect from 11/11/1975, all Class 1, Class 2 Class 3 and Class 4 posts have been reclassified as Group A, Group B, Group C and Group D respectively. Pursuant to recommendations of the 6th Pay Commission, Group D posts have been merged with Group C Posts.
