Will the Minister of AYUSH be pleased to state:
(a) whether a number of posts of AYUSH doctors/practitioners and teaching faculty are lying
vacant in the country;
(b) if so, the details of such posts vacant during the last three years, stream-wise and State/UT-
wise;
(c) the steps being taken by the Government to fill these vacancies along with the time by which
these vacancies are likely to be filled;
(d) whether the Government has taken any steps to increase Post Graduate (PG) seats and faculty
recruitment and if so, the details thereof; and
(e) the specific measures proposed to be taken by the Government to address manpower
shortages in Kerala’s AYUSH Institutions in this regard?

(SHRI PRATAPRAO JADHAV)
(a) to (e) Public Health being the State subject, the primary responsibility of filling of the post
of Ayush doctors/practitioners and teaching faculty against the vacant posts as well as increasing
of Post Graduate (PG) seats lies with respective State Government including Kerala. Therefore,
no such information is being maintained by the Ministry. However, the National Commission for
Indian System of Medicine (NCISM) and the National Commission for Homoeopathy (NCH)
serve as the statuary regulatory authorities overseeing education and practice in the Indian
System of Medicine (ISM) and Homoeopathy, as mandated by the NCISM Act 2020 and the
NCH Act 2020 respectively. Under these Acts, Institutions seeking to increase postgraduate
(PG) seats or initiate new postgraduate courses in the ISM and Homoeopathy shall submit a
scheme or application to the relevant authorities i.e. Medical Assessment and Rating Board for
Indian System of Medicine (MARBISM) or Medical Assessment and Rating Board for
Homoeopathy (MARBH).
