Parliament Question: Villages and Towns Covered under 5G Mobile Network

SHRI RAJESH NARANBHAI CHUDASAMA: Will the Minister of COMMUNICATIONS be pleased to state: (a) the details of number of villages and towns covered under the 5G mobile network in the country, State-wise; (b) the details of total number of mobile connections across the country during the last five years; and (c) the details of total number of Wi-Fi connection subscribers in the country? ANSWER MINISTER OF STATE FOR COMMUNICATIONS AND RURAL DEVELOPMENT (DR. PEMMASANI CHANDRA SEKHAR) (a) 5G services have been rolled out in all States/ UTs across the country and presently it is available in 99.9% of the districts in the country. As on 28.02.2026, 5.23 Lakhs 5G Base Transceiver Stations (BTSs) have been installed across the country . Further, as on 28.02.2026, 5G Base Transceiver Stations (BTSs) have been installed in 1.13 Lakh villages across the country. State-wise number of villages having 5G BTSs as on 28.02.2026 is attached here as Annexure-I.
