Will the Minister of COMMUNICATIONS be pleased to state:
(a) whether the Government proposes/nominates anyone in the board of Vodafone India
Telecom Company as the Government owns more than 45 per cent equity shares in the Company
and if so, the details thereof; and
(b) whether the Government proposes to buy more equity shares in the Vodafone and if so, the
details thereof?

(a) No such proposal is under consideration. The Government of India’s shareholding in
Vodafone Idea Limited (VIL) has been classified as Public Shareholding, and the government is not
involved in the management of VIL.
