**Summary:**
In response to Lok Sabha Unstarred Question No. 3140, addressed on August 7, 2025, regarding water supply projects in Andhra Pradesh, the Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs provides the following information. Under the Atal Mission for Rejuvenation and Urban Transformation (AMRUT), projects were approved on February 27, 2017, for Kavali and Gudivada cities. For Kavali, two water supply projects were approved for a total of ₹56.11 crore. For Gudivada, two water supply projects were approved for a total of ₹41.4 crore.
As of August 7, 2025, one project in Kavali, worth ₹13.13 crore, and two projects in Gudivada, worth ₹41.4 crore, have been completed. The remaining project in Kavali is at the implementation stage and is 95% complete. The state government reports delays primarily due to the COVID-19 pandemic and the unavailability of raw materials and labor. The revised cost for the remaining Kavali project is ₹56.11 crore, with a tentative completion date of September 2025. The completed projects include: Water Supply Improvement Scheme and performance OM for 7 years including Defects Liability period of 2 Tears under AMRUT 201620 Project for Kavali city, Providing Water Supply distribution lines, feeder mains, ELSRs and House Service Connections to Gudivada Municipality, Remodelling replacement of pumping mains new ELSRs Replacement of dilapidated conditioned ELSR's storage facility for Gudivada city.

Will the Minister of HOUSING AND URBAN AFFAIRS be pleased to
state:
(a) the date on which the projects to provide water supply in Kavali and
Gudivada cities of Andhra Pradesh with an estimated cost of Rupees
43 Crores and 25.50 Crores respectively in Nellore and Krishna
districts were proposed;
(b) whether the said projects are still in progress and not yet completed
and if so, the details thereof and the reasons for the delay along with
the time by which each project is likely to be completed; and
(c) whether there is any cost and time overrun of these projects and if
so, the details thereof?

(a) to (c): Under the Atal Mission for Rejuvenation and Urban
Transformation (AMRUT) in Andhra Pradesh, two water supply
projects worth ₹56.11 crore have been approved on 27.02.2017 for
Kavali city, and two water supply projects worth ₹41.4 crore have
been approved for Gudivada city by the APEX Committee under the
Mission. As reported by the Andhra Pradesh State, one project worth
₹13.13 crore in Kavali city and two projects worth ₹41.4 crore in
Gudivada city have been completed. Other one project is at
implementation stage. The State Government has also informed that
the delay occurred mainly due to Covid pandemic, non-availability of
raw materials/ labour. The details of projects in Kavali and Gudivada
cities including revised cost and tentative date of completion is given
in ANNEXURE.
