The questions posed to the Minister of Consumer Affairs, Food and Public Distribution include the Government's awareness of issues faced by farmers in Sri Ganganagar-Hanumangarh due to delayed and low paddy procurement, measures taken to ensure paddy procurement, details of paddy procurement in Sri Ganganagar-Hanumangarh over the last three years, and steps to improve farmer welfare and eliminate middlemen in paddy procurement. The Minister of State for the Ministry of Consumer Affairs, Food & Public Distribution, Shrimati Nimuben Jayantibhai Bambhaniya, answered stating that procurement operations at Minimum Support Price (MSP) are primarily managed by State Governments through their agencies. The Government of Rajasthan has decided not to procure paddy during Kharif Marketing Season (KMS) 2025-26 because there is no requirement assessed for paddy procurement at MSP in the state under Decentralized procurement (DCP) mode. Furthermore, no paddy procurement at MSP in the state has been undertaken from KMS 2023-24 to 2025-26.
