WOMEN LEADERSHIP AND ENTREPRENEURSHIP UNDER PM VIKAS SCHEME

Will the Minister of MINORITY AFFAIRS be pleased to state:
(a) the details of the number of women enrolled and completed the Leadership and Basic
Entrepreneurship Development Programme along with the Entrepreneurship Development
under PM-VIKAS Scheme since its inception, State/UT and year-wise;
(b) the details of the number of women who have successfully become Business
Mentors/Business Correspondents (Biz Sakhis/ Udyami Mitras), State/UT-wise and year-wise;
(c) the details of the number of individual and group enterprises established by beneficiaries
trained under the Entrepreneurship Development module, State/UT-wise and year-wise; and
(d) the details of the financial institutions such as NMDFC, banks and NBFCs through which
enterprise set-up support has been extended along with the total amount of credit disbursed,
year-wise?

(a): The Women Leadership & Entrepreneurship component under the PM VIKAS Scheme
seeks to empower minority women through training in digital literacy, financial inclusion,
community leadership, and livelihood enhancement. The programme equips women with
essential entrepreneurial competencies, thereby fostering greater economic participation. These
interventions extend to all districts and contribute significantly to advancing women-led
development and improving socio-economic outcomes at the grassroots level.
The component trains minority women through a three tiered training program
including “Leadership and Basic Entrepreneurship Development”, “Entrepreneurship
Development”, of 60 and 120 hours, respectively. Further, a 240-hour training is provided to
participants shortlisted after the second tier of training, to become “Biz Sakhis” or “Udyami
Mitras”, who are envisaged to act as business mentors to support other women entrepreneurs
locally.Under the PM VIKAS Scheme, targets have been allocated only recently, and a state/
UT-wise breakup of targets allocated under the Women Leadership and Entrepreneurship
