NOTIFICATION Sachivalaya, Gandhinagar, 8th October, 2026 GUJARAT PANCHAYATS ACT, 1993.

No. KP/ 35 of 2026/ PRHRDD/PRC/e-file/14/2025/2248/N:- The following draft of rules which is proposed to be issued under sub-section (1) of section 274, read with sections 57, 71 and 85 of the Gujarat Panchayats Act, 1993(Guj.18 of 1993) is hereby published as required by sub-section (5) of section 274 of the said Act, for information of all persons likely to be affected thereby and notice is hereby given that the said draft rules will be taken into consideration by the Government of Gujarat on or after the expiry of thirty days from the date of publication of this

notification in the Official Gazette.

2. Any objection or suggestion which may be received by the Secretary, Panchayats, Rural Housing and Rural Development Department, Sachivalaya, Gandhinagar, from any person with respect to the said draft rules on or before the expiry of the aforesaid period will be considered by the Government.

DRAFT NOTIFICATION GUJARAT PANCHAYATS ACT, 1993.

No. KP/ 35 of 2026/PRHRDD/PRC/e-file/14/2025/2248/N:- In exercise of the powers conferred by sub-section (1) of

section 274, read with sections 57, 71 and 85 of the Gujarat Panchayats Act, 1993 (Guj.18 of 1993), the Government of Gujarat hereby makes the following rules further to amend the Gujarat Panchayat Office Bearers (Procedure for Removal) Rules, 2025, namely:-

1. Short title and commencement.

(1) These rules may be called “the Gujarat Panchayat Office Bearers (Procedure for Removal) (Amendment) Rules, 2026.”

(2) They shall come into force on the date of their publication in the Official Gazette.

2. In the Gujarat Panchayat Office Bearers (Procedure for Removal) (Amendment) Rules, 2025 (hereinafter referred to as “the said rules”), in rule 3,-

(i) in sub rule (1), clause(g) shall be deleted;

(ii) in sub-rule (2), after clause (e), the following clause shall be added, namely :- “(f) Affirmation by Complainant as per Annexure – III”.

3. In the said rules, after Annexure-II, the following Annexure shall be added, namely :- “Annexure - III (see rule 3(2)(f)) Affirmation by Complainant I, the complainant [Full Name]--------------------, aged about [Age] -------- years, Son/Daughter/Wife of [Father's/Spouse's Name], ------------------------ residing at [Full Address]--------------, do hereby solemnly affirm and declare that all the allegations, facts and statements made in this complaint are based on my personal knowledge, experience, documents in my possession, or information obtained from reliable and verifiable sources. None of the allegations made in this application is based merely on rumours, hearsay or unsubstantiated information, and to the best of my knowledge and belief, all the facts stated herein are true and correct.

I further declare that if any statement made in this complaint or any document submitted herewith is proved to be false, fabricated or misleading, I shall be liable for all consequences and proceedings under the applicable law.
