PART IV-A Rules and Orders (Other than those published in Parts I, I-A, and I-L) made by the Government of Gujarat under the Central Acts FOREST AND ENVIRONMENT DEPARTMENT NOTIFICATION Sachivalaya, Gandhinagar, 31st July, 2026 CONSTITUTION OF INDIA. No. GVN/2026/13/FED/MSM/e-file/6/2025/1153/D.2:- In exercise of the powers conferred by the proviso to article 309 of the Constitution of India, the Governor of Gujarat is hereby makes the following rules for the purpose of employment of such Ex-Agniveers, who are native / origin/ permanent residents of the State of Gujarat and have retired from the service as Agniveers from the Indian Armed Forces(Army, Navy and Air Force), to the posts of direct recruitment in the Gujarat subordinate forest service of the Forest and Environment Department, namely:- 1. Short title, commencement and application .- (1) These rules may be called the Gujarat Horizontal Reservation for Ex-Agniveers for the employment on posts of direct recruitment in the Gujarat subordinate Forest service of the Forest and Environment Department Rules, 2026. 422423 GUJARAT GOVERNMENT GAZETTE EX., 13-08-2026 [ PART IV-A (2) They shall come into force on the date of their publication in the official gazette. (3) These rules shall be applicable only in respect of direct recruitment to posts in the Gujarat subordinate Forest service of the Forest and Environment Department mentioned in Appendix-I. 2. These rules shall be applicable notwithstanding anything inconsistent contained in any rules, regulations or orders in force at the time of commencement of these rules . 3. Definitions.- In these rules, unless the context otherwise requires, (a) “Appendix” means Appendix appended to these rules; (b) “Appointing Authority” means the appointing authority as defined in the Gujarat Civil Services Rules, 2002; (c) “Board” means the Gujarat Subordinate Services Selection Board, Gandhinagar or such other Boards as may be constituted by the Government for the said purpose; (d) “Competitive Examination rules” means the prescribed competitive examination rules for direct recruitment to the post mentioned in Appendix-I, in the Gujarat Subordinate Forest Service; (e) “Constitution” means the Constitution of India; (f) “Ex-Agniveer” means Agniveer who is native/origin/permanent resident of the State of Gujarat and have retired from the Indian Armed Forces(Indian Army, Navy and Air Force) as Agniveer under the Ministry of Defence, Government of India; (g) “Government” means the Government of Gujarat; (h) “Indian Armed Forces” means Indian Armed Forces(Indian Army, Navy and Air Force) under the Ministry of Defence, Government of India; (i) “Relevant recruitment rules” means the recruitment rules prescribed for the post mentioned in Appendix-I. 4. Ex-Agniveers, who have been issued a discharge certificate from the Indian Armed Forces as Agniveers and whose credentials have been duly verified based on the requisite documents, shall be granted 20% horizontal reservation in posts of direct recruitment in the Gujarat subordinate Forest service of the Forest and Environment Department. 5. Ex-Agniveers shall be exempted from the Physical Fitness Test as described in the relevant competitive examination rules and Walking Test as prescribed in the relevant recruitment rules in the process of direct recruitment to the post mentioned in Appendix-I. 6. Ex-Agniveers shall be granted a relaxation of three years in the upper age limit prescribed under the relevant recruitment rules: Provided that the candidates belonging to the first batch of Agniveers shall be granted a relaxation of five years in the upper age limit prescribed under the relevant recruitment rules.
