Rules and Orders (Other than those published in Parts I, I-A, and I-L) made
by the Government of Gujarat under the Central Acts

CONSTITUTION OF INDIA.
No.GG/64/2026/MKM/102008/423/E-1:- In exercise of the powers conferred by the proviso to article 309 of the
Constitution of India, the Governor of Gujarat hereby makes the following rules further to amend the Inspector, Class
III, Prohibition and Excise, Competitive Examination Rules, 2012, namely: -
1. (1) These rules may be called the Inspector, Class III, Prohibition and Excise, Competitive Examination
(Amendment) Rules, 2026.
(2) They shall come into force on the date of their publication in the Official Gazette.
2. In the Inspector, Class III, Prohibition and Excise, Competitive Examination Rules, 2012 (hereinafter referred to
as the said rules”) in rule 2, for clause (e), the following clause shall be substituted, namely:-
“(e)” Main examination” means the objective type written examination as specified in the part III of the Appendix I.”

3. In the said rules, in rule 3, sub-rule (3) shall be deleted.
4. In the said rules, in rule 6,-
(i) for sub-rule (1), the following sub-rule shall be substituted, namely:-“
(1) The examination shall be held in three successive stages as specified in Appendix I, in the following
manner, namely,-
Part I: Preliminary Examination (Screening test - Objective type) for selection of candidates for admission
to the physical test;
Part II: Physical Test for selection of candidates for admission to the main examination;
Part III: Main Examination (objective type-written examination).”;
(ii) in sub-rule (4), for the words and figures “Part II of the Appendix” the words and figures “Part II of the
Appendix I” shall be substituted;
(iii) for sub-rule (5), the following sub-rule shall be substituted, namely:-
“(5) The Board shall hold the main examination as specified in Part III of the Appendix I.”;
(iv) sub-rule (6) shall be deleted;
(v) for sub-rule (7), the following sub-rule shall be substituted, namely:-
“(7) The Board shall declare the names of successful candidates, after completion of the main examination,
equal to the number of vacancies requisitioned.”.
5. In the said rules, in rule 7, for the words and figures “as specified in Part I, II and III of the Appendix” the words
and figures “as specified in Part I, II and III of the Appendix I” shall be substituted.
6. In the said rules, in rule 8, for the words, brackets and letters “heading (A) Written Examination”, the words
“heading Written Examination” shall be substituted.
7. In the said rules, for rule 13, following rule shall be substituted, namely:-
“13. Ineligibility on failure to attend main examination.- The candidate who is qualified in the Physical Test and
called for main examination but fails to attend the main examination on the specified date and time shall not be
eligible for selection.”.
8. (i) In the said rules, in rule 14, for sub-rule (2), the following sub-rule shall be substituted, namely:-
“(2) Weightage of additional marks shall be awarded in Written Examination as per the scheme specified in
Appendix II.”;
(ii) for the existing proviso, the following proviso shall be substituted, namely:-
“Provided that candidates belonging to the reserved categories may be allowed to appear in the physical
test by relaxing the standard in the preliminary examination, if the Board is of opinion that sufficient number
of candidates from these categories are not likely to be available for physical test on the basis of the
qualifying standard fixed for general category to fill up the vacancies reserved for such categories.”.
9. In the said rules, the existing Appendix shall be renumbered as Appendix I, and in the Appendix I so renumbered,
for PART III, the following PART shall be substituted, namely:-
“PART III
Main Examination:
The main examination shall consist written objective type of 100 (Hundred) marks, as follows, namely:-

Note: The standard of question paper of Gujarati as well as English shall
be of the level of the Higher Secondary School Certificate
Examination conducted in the State.”.
10. In the said rules, after Appendix I, the following Appendix shall be added, namely:-
“Appendix II
(see rule 14(2))
Weightage of additional marks:
Weightage of additional marks to be awarded after Written Examination shall be as under:
1. Weightage of additional 02 (two) marks shall be given to the candidate possessing the ‘C’ level certificate of
National Cadet Corps.
2. Weightage of additional 02 (two) marks shall be given to the candidate possessing national level sports
certificate.
3. Weightage of additional marks as mentioned below shall be given to the candidate possessing degree or
diploma certificate awarded by the Raksha Shakti University:

No.: GU/2026/03/IMD/AFM/e-file/9/2022/0001/D2: In exercise of the powers conferred by the proviso to article 309
of the Constitution of India, the Governor of Gujarat hereby makes the following rules further to amend the Technical
Assistant, Class III, in the subordinate service of Commissionerate of Cottage and Rural Industries, Recruitment Rules
2016, namely:-
1. (1) These rules may be called the Technical Assistant, Class III, in the subordinate service of the
Commissionerate of Cottage and Rural Industries, Recruitment (Amendment) Rules, 2026.
(2) They shall come into force on the date of their publication in the Official Gazette.387 GUJARAT GOVERNMENT GAZETTE EX., 09-07-2026 [ PART IV-A
2. In the Technical Assistant, Class III, in the subordinate service of Commissionerate of Cottage and Rural
Industries, Recruitment Rules, 2016, in rule 3, in clause (b), for sub-clauses (i) and (ii), the following sub-clauses
shall be substituted, namely:-
"(i) a Bachelor's degree in Engineering/Technology in Automobile /Chemical/Computer / Electronics and
Communication / Electrical and Electronics/Electrical / Information Technology/Instrumentation and
Control/Mechanical / Mechatronics / Metallurgy / Plastic Technology /Power Electronics / Textile
Processing Technology/Textile Manufacturing Technology / Handloom & Textile Technology obtained
from any of the
Universities established or incorporated by or under the Central or a State Act in India; or any other educational
institution's recognised as such or declared as deemed to be a University under section 3 of the University Grants
Commission Act, 1956; or
(ii) a diploma in Engineering in Automobile/Chemical / Computer / Electronics and Communication/ Electrical
and Electronics / Electrical /Information Technology/ Instrumentation and Control / Mechanical
/Mechatronics / Metallurgy / Plastic Technology / Power Electronics/Textile Processing Technology
/Textile Manufacturing Technology/Handloom & Textile Technology obtained from any of the Universities
established or incorporated by or under the Central or a State Act in India; or any other educational
institutions recognised as such or declared as deemed to be a University under section 3 of the University
Grants Commission Act, 1956; and have about two years' experience in the Government/local
Body/Government Undertaking/Board/Corporation/Limited Company established under the Companies
Act, 2013;".

CONSTITUTION OF INDIA.
No. GK/16/26/MHK/1992/500/F-1 :- In exercise of the powers conferred by the proviso to article 309 of the
Constitution of India and in supersession of all the rules made in this behalf, the Governor of Gujarat hereby makes the
following rules to provide for regulating recruitment to the post of Joint Secretary to Government, on the Legal side of
the Legal Department in the Gujarat Secretariat Service, Class I, Gujarat State, namely-
1. (1) These rules may be called the Joint Secretary, (Legal Side), in the Gujarat Secretariat Services, Class I,
Recruitment Rules, 2026.
(2) They shall come into force on the date of their publication in the Official Gazette,
2. Appointment to the post of Joint Secretary to Government in the Gujarat Secretariat Service (Legal Side), Class I,
shall be made by promotion of a person who possesses “Very Good” benchmark for being considered fit for
promotion within the Zone of Consideration as laid down in the Gujarat Civil Services Classification and
Recruitment (General) Rules, 1967 from amongst the persons who:-
(i) have worked for not less than eleven years in the Gujarat Secretariat Service (Legal Side), Class I, of which
for not less than Five years he shall have worked as Deputy Secretary (Legal Side), in the Gujarat
Secretariat Service, Class- I (Legal Side), and
(ii) have passed the qualifying examination for computer knowledge in accordance with the provisions of the
Gujarat Civil Services Computer Competency Training and Examination Rules, 2006;PART IV-A ] GUJARAT GOVERNMENT GAZETTE EX., 09-07-2026 388
Provided that where the appointing authority is satisfied that the person having the experience specified in
clause (i) above is not available for promotion and it is necessary in the public interest to fill up the post by
promotion even of a person having experience for a lesser period; it may for reasons to be recorded in writing,
promote such person who possesses experience as Deputy Secretary (Legal Side) for not less than two-thirds of
the period specified in clause (i) above, however, subject to the Condition that such person shall have worked for
not less than eleven years in the Gujarat Secretariat Service (Legal Side) Class 1.
