HOME DEPARTMENT NOTIFICATION Sachivalaya, Gandhinagar, 22nd December, 2025 GUJARAT HOME GUARDS ACT, 1947. No: GHG/166/HD/HGD/e-file/8/2025/0753/F :- In exercise of the powers conferred by section 8 of the Gujarat Home Guards Act, 1947 (Bom. III of 1947), the Government of Gujarat hereby makes the following rules further to amend the Bombay Home Guards Rules, 1953, namely:- 1. (1) These rules may be called the Bombay Home Guards (Amendment) Rules, 2025. (2) They shall come into force on the date of their publication in the Official Gazette. 2. In the Bombay Home Guards Rules, 1953, for rule 9, the following rule shall be substituted, namely:- “9. Limit of age for a member of the Home Guards. – A member of the Home Guards may continue to be such member until he attains the age of 58 years: Provided that the Government may relax the age limit in suitable cases”.
