**Summary:**
This notification, issued by the Directorate General of Foreign Trade (DGFT), Ministry of Commerce and Industry, Government of India, introduces port restrictions on the import of specific goods from Bangladesh to India, effective June 27, 2025. Specifically, the notification restricts imports of the following goods from Bangladesh through any land port on the India-Bangladesh border: Flax tow and waste including yarn waste and garnetted stock (HS Code 530130); Jute and other textile bast fibers, raw or retted (HS Code 530310); Jute excluding flax, true hemp and ramie (HS Code 530390); Single flax yarn (HS Code 530610); Single yarn of jute or of other textile bast fibers (HS Code 530710); Multiple folded (HS Code 530720); Woven fabrics or flax (HS Code 530919); Woven fabrics or flax (HS Code 530929); Unbleached woven fabrics of jute or of other textile bast fibers (HS Code 530010). Import of Single flax yarn is only allowed through Nhava Sheva Seaport.
These restrictions do not apply to Bangladesh exports transiting through India to Nepal and Bhutan. However, re-export of these goods from Nepal/Bhutan to India is prohibited. The notification is issued under the authority of Section 3 and Section 5 of the Foreign Trade (Development and Regulation) Act, 1992, and paragraphs 1.02 and 2.01 of the Foreign Trade Policy (FTP) 2023.

Subject: Port restriction on import of certain goods from Bangladesh to India under
ITC (HS), 2022 Schedule 1 (Import Policy)
S.O. (E). In exercise of powers conferred by Section 3 read with Section 5 of Foreign Trade
(Development & Regulation) Act, 1992, read with paragraph 1.02 and 2.01 of the Foreign
Trade Policy (FTP) 2023, as amended from time to time, and in continuation to DGFT
Notification No. 07/2025-26 dated 17.05.2025, the Central Government hereby introduces a
new sub-para 2 below Para 19 (1) to General Notes Regarding Import Policy under ITC (HS),
2022 Schedule 1 (Import Policy) with immediate effect.
“19. The import of following goods from Bangladesh to India shall be regulated as under:
(2) Port Restrictions on import of Goods from Bangladesh

2: The above restrictions at sub-Para 2 shall not apply to Bangladesh exports to
Nepal/Bhutan transiting through India. However, re-export of the aforesaid Bangladesh
Goods to India from Nepal/Bhutan shall not be allowed.
Effect of the Notification:
Import of certain goods from Bangladesh to India are regulated with immediate effect.
