In the Government Order read at (7) above, Government has extended all these relaxations and concessions also to the tenderers belonging to the Backward Castes as specified in Category-I and Category-II(A) as Backward Classes (1)2 Further, Karnataka State SC/ST Contractors Association have represented the Government to modify the clause 3.2 (c) of Standard Tender Document- KW-3, as per which the contractors to be qualified for the tenders, are required to execute minimum quantities of the work. In the Procurement Reforms Standing Committee meeting held on 11.09.2024, the proposal of the Karnataka State SC/ST Contractors Association for modification of this clause was discussed in detail and Committee considered the proposal of the Association and recommended for modifying the said clause to give the relaxation and also extend the same also to the tenderers belonging to the the Backward Castes as specified in Category-I and Category-II(A) as Backward Classes. Government has decided to modify clause 3.2(c) of KW-3 to facilitate the participation of the tenderers belonging Scheduled Caste and Scheduled Tribe Category and the Backward Castes as specified in Category-I and Category-II(A) as Backward Classes in the tenders of Construction works up to Rs.100.00 lakhs. Hence the following order.
