Subject : Public Procurement (Preference to Make in India) Order, 2017 – notifying Minimum Local
Content in Goods/Services for manufacturing of Industrial Boilers (Steam Generators).
S.O. 268(E).—In pursuance of the Public Procurement (Preference to Make in India) Order 2017
notified vide the Department For Promotion Of Industry And Internal Trade(DPIIT) Notification
No. 45021/2/2017-PP(B.E.II) dated 28.05.2018, to encourage ‘Make in India’ and to promote manufacturing
and production of goods and service in India to enhance income and employment, it has been decided that
preference shall be given to domestically manufactured Industrial Boilers (Steam Generators) by all public
procuring entities. This will be applicable to manufacturing companies in which not less than 51 % paid up
capital is held by the Central Government, or by any one or more State Government and includes a company
which is a subsidiary company of such a Government company.
2. In furtherance of the aforesaid order of DPIIT, the items associated with manufacturing and services
of Steam Generators/Industrial Boilers are notified as under.
