Under clause 7A of the Railway (Amendment) Act 2008
S.O. 2779(E).—In exercise of the powers conferred by clause (7A) of Section 2 of The Railways Act, 1989
(24 of 1989), the Central Government hereby authorizes the officers mentioned in column (2) of the Table below as
the Competent Authority to perform the functions of such authority under the said Act with effect from the date of
publication of this notification in the Official Gazette in respect of the Special Railway Project of “Proposed
construction of ROBs in lieu of Level Crossing Gates no. 16, Level Crossing Gates no. 17, Level Crossing Gates no.
18 between Kalyan-Lonavala section of Mumbai Division” in the State of Maharashtra, District- Thane relating to
Taluka mentioned in column (5) of the said table for the public purpose of execution, maintenance, management and
operation of such Special Railway Projects.
