अतः अब केन्द्रीर् सरकार उक्त अजधजनर्म की धारा 8 की उपधारा (1) और उपधारा (4) के साथ परित िैव
जवजवधता जनर्म, 2024 के जनर्म 6 के उपजनर्म (1) द्वारा प्रित् त िजक्तर्ों का प्रर्ोग करते हुए, भारत सरकार के तत्क ालीन

NOTIFICATION
New Delhi, the 8th December, 2025
S.O. 5679(E).— WHEREAS the Central Government established a body called the National Biodiversity
Authority under sub-sections (1) and (4) of section 8 of the Biological Diversity Act, 2002 (18 of 2003) vide notification
number S.O. 1147(E), dated the 1st October, 2003, published in the Gazette of India, Extraordinary, Part-II, Section 3,
Sub-section (ii) (hereinafter referred to as the said notification);
AND WHEREAS the demise of the non-official member has resulted to becoming the position vacant at serial
number 20 of the said Authority;
WHEREAS under sub-rule (3) of the rule 7 of the Biological Diversity Rules, 2024, provides a casual vacancy
shall be filled by a fresh nomination and the person nominated to fill the vacancy shall hold office only for the remainder

NOW, THEREFORE, in exercise of the powers conferred by sub-sections (1) and (4) of section 8 of the said
Act read with sub-rule (1) of rule 6 of the Biological Diversity Rules, 2024, the Central Government hereby makes
following further amendment to the notification of the Government of India in the erstwhile Ministry of Environment
and Forests, vide number S.O. 1147 (E), dated the 1st October, 2003, namely:-
In the said notification, under the sub-heading, "Non official members under clause (d) of sub-section (4) of
section 8", for the serial number (20) and entries relating thereto, the following serial number and entries shall be
substituted, namely:-
“20) Dr. Aditya Kumar Joshi (upto 05.09.2026)".
