NOTIFICATION
New Delhi, the 20th June, 2025
S.O. 2767(E).— Whereas by notifications of Government of India in Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas
number S.O. 2388(E) dated 18th August, 2015 issued under sub-section (1) of Section 3 of the Petroleum and Minerals
Pipelines (Acquisition of Right of User in Land) Act, 1962 (50 of 1962) (hereinafter referred to as the said Act),
Government of India declared its intention to acquire Rights of Users in lands, specified in the schedules appended to
those notifications, for the purpose of laying Dahej – Nagothane Ethane Pipeline by M/s Reliance Gas Pipelines
Limited (now M/s Reliance Ethane Pipeline Limited) for transportation of Liquid Ethane.
And whereas, Government of India, after considering the reports submitted by the Competent Authority
under sub-section(1) of Section 6 of the Act and on being satisfied that the said lands were required for laying the
pipeline, decided to acquire the Rights of Users therein;
And whereas, in exercise of the powers conferred by sub-section (1) of Section 6 of the Act, Government of
India declared acquisition of the Rights of Users in lands, specified in the schedules appended to those notifications,
for laying the said pipeline, vide notifications of Government of India in Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas
number S.O. 227(E) dated 21st January, 2016.
And whereas, in exercise of powers conferred by sub-section (4) of Section 6 of the Act, Government of
India declared vesting the Rights of Users in the said lands for laying the pipeline in M/s Reliance Gas Pipelines
Limited (now M/s Reliance Ethane Pipeline Limited) instead of Government of India, free from all encumbrances on
the dates of publication of respective declarations;
And whereas, M/s Reliance Industries Limited (RIL), which is laying extension pipeline (HDPL Extn.2),
intends to share with M/s Reliance Ethane Pipeline Limited (REPL) the Rights of Users in lands described in the
schedule appended to this notification, which has been earlier vested in M/s Reliance Gas Pipelines Limited (now M/s
Reliance Ethane Pipeline Limited) as mentioned above;
And whereas, M/s Reliance Ethane Pipeline Limited has consented to the sharing of the Rights of Users in
the said lands with M/s Reliance Industries Limited for the Purpose of Gaseous Ethylene Pipeline from Hazira
Manufacturing Division (HMD) to Dahej Manufacturing Division (DMD) of M/s. Reliance Industries Limited (RIL)
in Gujarat, an extension pipeline (HDPL Extn.2) to the existing Hazira – Dahej Natural Gas Pipeline (HDPL) should
be laid by M/s. Reliance Industries Limited.
Now, therefore, in exercise of powers conferred under sub-section (4) of Section 6 of the Act, Government of
India directs that the Rights of Users in the said lands, vested earlier in M/s Reliance Ethane Pipeline Limited (earlier
M/s Reliance Gas Pipelines Limited), would also be vested in M/s Reliance Industries Limited, free from all
encumbrances from the date of publication of this declaration.
