NOTIFICATION
New Delhi, the 19th September, 2022
S.O. 4508(E).—Whereas by Notification of Government of India in the Ministry of Petroleum and Natural
Gas 2136 dated.12.05.2022. Notified in the Extraordinary Gazette of India S.O. No. 2251 dated.17.05.2022. issued
under sub-Section (1) of Section 3 of the Petroleum and Minerals Pipe Lines (Acquisition of Right Of User in Land)
Act, 1962 (50 of 1962) (hereinafter referred to as the said Act, Government of India declared its intention to acquire
the Right of User in the Lands specified in the Schedule appended to that Notification for the purpose of laying
pipeline for transportation of natural gas through SRIKAKULAM TO ANGUL pipeline (SAPL) Project, Srikakulam
District in the State of Andhra Pradesh by the GAIL (India) Ltd;
And whereas copies of the said Gazette Notification were made available to the public;
And whereas the objections received from the public to the laying of gas pipeline have been considered and
disposed of by the Competent Authority;
And whereas the Competent Authority has under Sub-Section (i) of Section 6 of the said Act, submitted
report to the Government of India;
And whereas Government of India, after considering the said report and on being satisfied that the said land
is required for laying the pipeline, has decided to acquire the Right of User therein;
Now, Therefore, in exercise of the power conferred by Sub-Section (i) of Section 6 of the said Act,
Government of India hereby declares that the Right of User in the said lands specified in the Schedules appended to
this Notification is hereby acquired for laying the pipeline.
And further in exercise of power conferred by Sub-Section (4) of the Section 6 of the said act, Government
of India here by directs that the Right of User in the said lands for laying the pipe line shall instead of vesting in the
Government of India vest, on the date of the publication of the declaration, in the GAIL (India) Limited, free from all
encumbrances.
