Qubix Business Park Pvt. Ltd, a private organisation, had proposed under section 3 of the Special Economic Zones Act, 2005 (28 of 2005), (hereinafter referred to as the said Act) to set up an Information Technology and Information Technology Enabled Services Special Economic Zone at Rajiv Gandhi Infotech Park, Phase-I, Hinjewadi Pune, in the State of Maharashtra; AND, WHEREAS, the Central Government in exercise of the powers conferred by sub-section (1) of section 4 of the said Act read with rule 8 of the Special Economic Zones Rules 2006, had notified an area of 11.7943 hectares at the above Special Economic Zone vide Ministry of Commerce and Industry Notification Number S.O. 1687(E) dated 03.10.2007. Subsequently, an additional area of 0.2201 hectares was notified and an area of 1.8818 hectares was de-notified vide Ministry of Commerce and Industry Notification S.O. 254(E) dated 03.02.2010. An additional area of 0.0440 hectares was notified vide Ministry of Commerce and Industry Notification S.O. 2309 (E) dated 05.10.2011; AND, WHEREAS, M/s. Qubix Business Park Pvt. Ltd has now proposed for de-notification of 1.4787 hectares from the above Special Economic Zone; AND, WHEREAS, the State Government of Maharashtra has given its approval to the proposal vide letter No. SEZ-2023/CR-199/Ind-2 dated 15th July, 2024.Further, the de-notified land will be utilized towards creation infrastructure which would sub-serve the objective of the SEZ as originally envisaged and this land will conform to the land use guidelines/master plan of the State Government; AND, WHEREAS, the Development Commissioner, SEEPZ SEZ has recommended the proposal for de- notification of an area of 1.4787 hectares of the Special Economic Zone; AND, WHEREAS, the Central Government is satisfied that the requirements under sub-section (8) of section 3 of the said Act and other related requirements are fulfilled; NOW, THEREFORE, in exercise of the powers conferred by second proviso to sub-section (1) of section 4 of the Special Economic Zones Act, 2005 and in pursuance of rule 8 of the Special Economic Zones Rules, 2006, the Central Government hereby de-notifies an area of 1.4787 hectares, thereby making resultant area as 8.6979 hectares.
