NOTIFICATION
New Delhi, the 10th February, 2022
S.O. 654(E).—In exercise of the powers conferred by sub-section(1) of section 162 of the
Electricity Act, 2003 (36 of 2003) read with Qualification, Power and Function of Chief Electrical
Inspector and Electrical Inspectors Rules, 2006 (herein after called the said Rules) notified on 17.8.2006
and as amended on 16.05.2016, the Central Government hereby appoints the following officer of Central
Electricity Authority as Chief Electrical Inspector for CEA, from the date of this Notification till their
tenure in CEA or till further orders, whichever is earlier, subject to fulfillment of the qualification and
Condition mentioned in the said Rules.

The above mentioned officer shall exercise the powers and perform their functions in respect of
electrical works, electrical installations and electrical rolling stock in operation within the jurisdiction of
CEA, as per the procedure provided in Central Electricity Authority (Measures relating to Safety and
Electricity Supply) Regulations, 2010, as amended from time to time.
It shall be ensured that above said officer do not function as the Chief Electrical Inspector in
respect of any electrical work or installation, the execution or maintenance of which is their responsibility.
The officer appointed as Chief Electrical Inspector shall undergo such training as the Central
Government may consider necessary for the purpose and such training shall be completed to the
satisfaction of the Government.
