**6. Target Audience and Stakeholders:**
* The primary target audience consists of:
* Landowners and residents whose properties fall within the designated stretch of NH227B in Uttar Pradesh and are subject to acquisition.
* The competent authorities who will be responsible for executing the land acquisition process.
* Construction companies and contractors involved in the highway upgradation project.
* The Government of Uttar Pradesh, as it will benefit from improved infrastructure.

* Other officers referenced in the schedule (column 2) are also designated as competent authorities.
* **Timelines/Procedures:** The policy takes effect from the date of publication in the Official Gazette (January 28, 2022). The procedures for land acquisition are governed by the National Highways Act, 1956, though specific procedural details are not included in the provided text.
**8. Expected Outcomes / Impact of Changes:**
* The expected outcomes of this policy include:
* Efficient land acquisition to facilitate the timely upgradation of NH227B.
* Improved road infrastructure, leading to reduced travel time and enhanced safety for commuters.
* Stimulation of economic activity in the region due to improved connectivity and transportation efficiency.
* Potential displacement of landowners and residents whose properties are acquired, necessitating fair compensation and rehabilitation measures.
**9. Conclusion:**
The Ministry of Road Transport and Highways' notification regarding land acquisition for the upgradation of NH227B represents a significant step towards improving infrastructure and connectivity in Uttar Pradesh. The policy authorizes competent authorities to acquire land for the highway's expansion, impacting landowners and residents along the designated stretch. Successful implementation of this policy is crucial for realizing the intended benefits of enhanced transportation efficiency and economic growth in the region. Further details about the specific procedures and compensation mechanisms would provide a more complete picture of the policy's impact.
