The Ministry of Railways (Railway Board) has issued a notification, G.S.R. 719(E), in New Delhi on September 26, 2025. This notification introduces the Railways Red Tariff (Amendment) Rules, 2025, which come into force on the date of their publication in the Official Gazette.
These rules amend the Railways Red Tariff Rules 2000 by adding "ISO Tank Container" under the "Exceptional or Additional packing Rules" sub-heading in column (4) for the item "Liquefied Isobutylene" under the "Liquid Gases" sub-heading in column (1) of Table II.
The original rules were published on July 15, 2000, via G.S.R. 266, and last amended on March 24, 2023, via notification G.S.R. 225(E).

NOTIFICATION
New Delhi, the 26th September, 2025
G.S.R. 719(E).— In exercise of the powers conferred by Section 67 and Section 87 of the Railways Act, 1989
(24 of 1989), the Central Government hereby makes the following rules further to amend the Railways Red Tariff Rules,
2000 namely-
1. (1) These rules may be called the Railways Red Tariff (Amendment) Rules, 2025.
(2) They shall come into force on the date of their publication in the Official Gazette.
2. In the Railways Red Tariff Rules 2000, in the Table II, in Column (1), under the sub heading “Liquid Gases’,
the item ‘Liquefied Isobutylene’, and correspondingly in column (4), under the sub heading “Exceptional or
Additional packing Rules”, the item ‘ISO Tank Container’ shall be inserted.
