On February 12, 2026, PIB Mumbai reported that the Reserve Bank of India (RBI), Panaji Regional Office organized a KYC awareness quiz for undergraduate students at Goa Business School on February 10, 2026 as part of Financial Literacy Week 2026 (February 9-13) which was themed "KYC – Your First Step to Safe Banking”. Smt. Sandra Rodrigues, Deputy General Manager, Financial Inclusion and Development Department (FIDD), RBI Panaji, highlighted the importance of financial literacy and KYC compliance. Six teams from non-technical colleges under the Directorate of Higher Education, Goa, competed after a preliminary elimination round which tested knowledge of customer verification, fraud prevention, regulatory compliance and KYC procedures. VVM's Shree Damodar College of Commerce & Economics, Margao, secured first place. CES's Parvatibai Chowgule College of Arts and Science and Goa Multi Faculty College secured second and third place, respectively. As part of Financial Literacy Week 2026 (February 9–13), themed KYC – Your First Step to Safe
Banking, the Reserve Bank of India (RBI), Panaji Regional Office organized a thematic quiz titled
Are You Account Able…? at Goa Business School on February 10, 2026. The quiz aimed to
enhance awareness of Know Your Customer (KYC) norms among undergraduate students.
Smt. Sandra Rodrigues, Deputy General Manager, Financial Inclusion and Development
Department (FIDD), RBI Panaji, highlighted the importance of financial literacy and KYC
compliance in ensuring secure banking and empowering youth in the financial ecosystem.
Students from various non-technical colleges under the Directorate of Higher Education, Goa,
participated in the quiz. Following a preliminary elimination round, the top six teams competed
in the final round, which tested practical knowledge related to customer verification, fraud
prevention, regulatory compliance, and KYC procedures.
VVM’s Shree Damodar College of Commerce & Economics, Margao, secured first place, followed
by CES’s Parvatibai Chowgule College of Arts and Science and Goa Multi Faculty College in
second and third place respectively.
The initiative reinforced RBI’s commitment to promoting financial literacy and safe banking
practices among youth.
