Panaji, Goa
Reserve Bank of India (RBI), Panaji, observed the International MSME Day by
organising a Special Town Hall for Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) at
Verna Industrial Estate, Goa, on June 26, 2026.
The programme, organized by the Financial Inclusion and Development Department
under the RBI, was inaugurated by Shri Krishnakumar S, Deputy General Manager,
RBI, Panaji. In his address, Shri Krishnakumar talked about the significant
contribution of MSMEs towards economic growth, employment generation and
innovation. He also spoke on the importance of financial literacy, digital payments,
cyber security and timely access to formal credit in strengthening the MSME
ecosystem.
The Special Town Hall witnessed the participation of senior officials and
representatives from NABARD, MSME Development and Facilitation Office, SIDBI,
Goa Chamber of Commerce and Industry, ASSOCHAM, Khadi and Village Industries
Commission, Goa Khadi and Village Industries Board, Central Bank of India, Bank of
India, HDFC Bank, Axis Bank, State Bank of India, ICICI Bank, the Economic
Development Corporation, Goa, and DRDA, besides several entrepreneurs and
MSME stakeholders.The programme featured interactive discussions on access to formal credit,
responsible borrowing, digital payment systems, cyber security, grievance redress
mechanisms and banking services for MSMEs. The event provided a platform to the
entrepreneurs for engaging with officials from the RBI and participating institutions to
discuss the issues related to credit and financial services.
