Regarding demand for Central funding and interest free loans
for timely completion of Wainganga Nalganga River Linking
Project
SHRI ANUP SANJAY DHOTRE (AKOLA): Honorable Chairperson
Ma'am, I am deeply grateful to you for giving me this opportunity to
speak on an issue of immense importance to our farmers. I wish to
bring to the attention of this House a highly ambitious project of our
state?s Honorable Chief Minister, Shri Devendra Fadnavis?the
Wainganga-Nalganga River Linking Project.
Speaker Ma'am, this project involves the creation of a new
388-kilometer river, designed to provide water for agriculture,
domestic use, and industrial purposes. On March 9, 2026, this

massive infrastructure project, valued at 94,967 crores, received
formal administrative approval. The scale of this initiative is truly
historic: it involves the acquisition of 31,495 hectares of land, will
create a command area of 4.04 lakh hectares, and will ultimately
provide irrigation to over 6.11 lakh hectares.

Through you, Ma'am, I urge the Honorable Minister of Jal
Shakti to allocate significant central funding for this project. Given
its vital importance to the region?s prosperity, I also request the
Central Government to provide Interest-Free Loans through
specialized government schemes to ensure its timely completion.

Speaker Ma'am, India?s history shows that during the
previous Congress regimes, projects were often initiated but never
completed, languishing for 30 to 40 years. However, under the
leadership of Prime Minister Modi, we have seen numerous
mega-projects being completed with unprecedented speed and
efficiency. While our opponents continue to protest and create
hurdles, I am confident that this project will be successfully realized
under this government's vision.
