Regarding drug menace in Punjab and demand to restore Army recruitment quota SARDAR SARABJEET SINGH KHALSA (FARIDKOT): Thanks Hon?ble Chairperson Madam for giving me an opportunity to speak. I would like to draw your attention towards the situation prevailing in Punjab. The state is facing the problem of drugs and the Punjab government has failed to control it. The main reason for the drug menace is unemployment. Youth of the state can only be saved from this menace if they are provided employment and jobs. Central government has also reduced some quota in the armed forces and this should also be considered. This number should be again restored and more opportunities for employment should be created in Punjab so that we can save our youth from this menace in the border state. This is a very serious issue we are facing in Punjab. Madam, I would like to draw your attention towards another issue. One of our MPs from Punjab, Shri Amritpal Singh, detained in Dibrugarh jail, should also be given an opportunity to speak in the parliament. It is almost 2 years and he has not been permitted to attend the parliament session. He should also be permitted to attend the parliament session so that he can also place his view point about the situation prevailing in Punjab. So, I request you to kindly permit him to attend this House at least once. Thanks.
