Regarding formal notification & upgradation of Sunabeda
Tiger Reserve (Nuapada, Kalahandi)
SHRIMATI MALVIKA DEVI (KALAHANDI): Thank you,
Chairperson Ma'am, for giving me the opportunity to speak. I want
to ask about an important matter today. Nuapada comes under
Kalahandi loksabha constituency. The Sunabeda Tiger Reserve is
located there. We have received in principle approval for
upgradation in this regard. Tiger reserve has been permitted in
Sunabeda by National Tiger Conservation Authority. And we need
actual upgradation and notification for this Tiger reserve. It spreads
in an area around 600 square kilo meters. It is situated between
Odisha and Chhatishgarh. If we get a Tiger reserve here then
migrant labour issue would be resolved, It would boost tourism
sector as well as the economy of the state. Hence I request the
concerned Minister through you Ma'am, to declare this as a Tiger
reserve as soon as possible. Thank you.
