Regarding LPG cylinder black-marketing in Amritsar and demand for GPS tag/delivery authentication code system SHRI GURJEET SINGH AUJLA (AMRITSAR): Thanks, Hon?ble Chairperson Madam. I would like to draw your attention towards an important problem. Shortage of LPG is being faced in the entire country today and the government is assuring that adequate stock is available. I would like to submit that on the ground level, some gas agencies and distributors are resorting to black marketing. Gas cylinder is made available on booking and the people come to know that even without a booking by them, the cylinder has been shown as delivered. I have to submit that the government boasts of Digital India. There should be a provision of delivery authentication code as prevalent on Uber platform where the vehicle starts only after providing the relevant code. Nowadays, the black marketing of the cylinders is on full swing, specially at Amritsar. Amritsar is a tourist centre and being a commercial hub, there is a big demand of commercial LPG cylinders. Black-marketing is rampant and no one answers the calls regarding the availability of the cylinders. So, I demand that the Government should introduce GPS Tag drop system or some delivery authentication code so that the people can know about the arrival of the delivery boys. Several complaints are coming and in absence of such information, the people particular at Amritsar are facing hardship. I urge upon Puri Sahib that this is not a very big mechanism and can?t we have it. Even smallest of companies are having the delivery code system but the poor people are not able to get the gas cylinders. Cylinders are being sold in black market by certain agencies who are generating the code at their level and inform the customers that the delivery has been completed. This should be stopped immediately.
