Regarding need for a uniform spousal transfer policy to be implemented across autonomous medical institutions DR. BYREDDY SHABARI (NANDYAL): I wish to highlight an issue affecting healthcare professionals, particularly the women employees working in autonomous medical institutions under the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, including All India Institute of Medical Sciences. Despite the existence of spousal posting guidelines issued by the Department of Personnel and Training, no uniform spousal transfer policy has been implemented across these autonomous institutions. As a result, the employees are compelled to live separately for almost years. This is leading to emotional stress. This would indirectly affect the patient care and also delivery of good healthcare. Sir, between 2019 and 2024, about 2,200 employees have resigned, especially from AIIMS and significantly, the women employees. When they approached the institutions, they were told: ?Take the NOC and reappear for the examination so that you can get the posting again near to the family.? I, therefore, request the Government to issue a uniform spousal transfer policy aligned with DoPT guidelines, applicable to all autonomous medical institutions, which will help establish a transparent inter-institutional transfer mechanism to address this long-term hardship.
