Regarding need for comprehensive and integrated planning to
develop Kalinga Nagar, Vyasanagar, Jajpur Road and Panikoili
together as a planned city in Jajpur district, Odisha-Laid
DR. RABINDRA NARAYAN BEHERA (JAJPUR): Kalinga Nagar
is the steel capital of India. There are around 10 steel plants and
ancillary industries in this locality. Adjacent Sukinda area is having
95 percentage of chrome ores of India and further iron and
manganese ores are available in this locality. National Highway
and State Road from state Capital Bhubaneswar to Keonjhar
District Hq passes through this town. Bhubaneswar-Keonjhar
passenger and goods train line passes through this town with
Jakhapura as passenger halt. Adjacent town Vyasanagar a
municipality situated at 5 KM distance is having rail station
connecting Chennai and Howrah, with Software Technological
Park of India. Vyasanagar is having the seat of Maharshi
Vyasadeba and connecting to Mahabharata times. Panikoili is also
a small town with connectivity of Chennai-Kolkata National
Highway having District Police HQ. Vyasanagar is an upcoming
city with various Government offices, Judicial Court etc. It is,
therefore, proposed to Hon?ble Minister of Housing and Urban
Affairs to take necessary steps for converting Kalinga Nagar,
Vyasanagar, Jajpur Road and Panikoili a big and planned city
which could be the next urbanization platform for the Jajpur District
which is having Buddhist Heritage points like Ratnagiri, Udaigiri
and Shakti Pitha Maa Biraja Khetra, Baitarani Tirtha and Navi Gaya
Khetra.
