Regarding need for establishment of industrial corridor in
Kallakurichi Parliamentary Constituency in Tamil Nadu-Laid
SHRI MALAIYARASAN D. (KALLAKURICHI): I would like to draw
the attention of the Government to the urgent need for establishing
an Industrial Corridor in the Kallakurichi Lok Sabha Constituency of
Tamil Nadu. Kallakurichi district is strategically located with strong
agricultural potential and a growing youth population seeking
employment opportunities. However, the region lacks large-scale
industrial infrastructure, resulting in migration of skilled and
semi-skilled workers to nearby urban centers. The establishment of
an Industrial Corridor with dedicated industrial parks, MSME
clusters, warehousing facilities, and logistics support would:
Generate large-scale employment for local youth. Promote
agro-based industries, textiles, and small-scale manufacturing
units. Attract domestic and foreign investment into the region.
Improve overall economic growth and infrastructure development. I
therefore urge the Government to consider including Kallakurichi in
upcoming industrial corridor projects under relevant central
schemes and allocate necessary funds for feasibility studies and
infrastructure development. Such a step will significantly enhance
the socio-economic progress of the constituency and reduce
regional imbalance.
