Regarding need for retention and operational continuity of Army Recruitment Office at Amethi, Uttar Pradesh-Laid SHRI KISHORI LAL (AMETHI): The retention of the Army Recruitment Office (ARO) at Amethi is an important issue for the youth of the region and surrounding 13 districts. The ARO plays a crucial role in facilitating recruitment into the Indian Army by conducting rallies, documentation, medical examinations, and guidance for aspiring candidates. Amethi and nearby areas have a long tradition of contributing soldiers to the armed forces, and the presence of an ARO locally makes the recruitment process more accessible for thousands of young aspirants. If the Army Recruitment Office is shifted or discontinued, candidates from Amethi, Sultanpur, Raebareli and neighbouring districts would be forced to travel long distances to other recruitment centres. This would increase financial burden and logistical difficulties, particularly for candidates from rural and economically weaker backgrounds. The absence of a local recruitment office could also discourage many deserving youths from participating in the recruitment process. Moreover, retaining the ARO in Amethi would help maintain the region?s historic contribution to national defence and promote employment opportunities for rural youth. It would also strengthen the connection between the armed forces and local communities. Therefore, considering the socio-economic conditions of the region and the strong participation of local youth in defence services, the Government should take necessary steps to ensure the continued functioning and retention of the Army Recruitment Office at Amethi.
