Regarding need to address the demands of Fair Price Shop
dealers in Andhra Pradesh.-laid
SHRI PRABHAKAR REDDY VEMIREDDY (NELLORE): PM
launched PMGKAY to eradicate hunger, thereby ensure food
security to 80 crore poor to make India Viksit Bharat by 2047. Fair
Price Shops are instrumental in success of PMGKAY and doing
yeoman?s service in distribution of foodgrains despite meagre
commissions and heavy operational burden. FPS Dealers are
facing innumerable problems and challenges and appealing for
addressing them for their survival. Hence, I appeal to GOI to
following fair demands of FPSs: Average commission is only
Rs.5,000-8,000 pm. It is not sufficient, since in States like Andhra
Pradesh they are distributing foodgrains at doorsteps of elderly,
PwD, etc. It is additional responsibility. So, Government
commission be increased and provide additional income source to
ensure a minimum of Rs.35,000-50,000 pm. Pending arrears from
GOI and State Governments be cleared early. Handling losses
incurred should be compensated. Insurance, health and Ex-gratia
extended to family members of FPS dealers.
