*Regarding need to address the problems being faced by ASHA workers in the country-Laid SHRIMATI PRATIMA MONDAL (JAYNAGAR): ASHA workers serve as the crucial link between the public health system and rural communities, playing a central role in maternal care, immunisation drives, disease surveillance, and implementation of national health programmes. Despite their indispensable contribution, they continue to be treated as voluntary workers and are paid performance-based incentives that are irregular and grossly inadequate. Many ASHAs lack fixed wages, social security benefits, pension coverage, and health insurance, even as their workload has significantly increased in recent years. Delays in incentive payments and absence of institutional recognition undermine both their dignity and the effectiveness of grassroots healthcare delivery. A robust public health system cannot function on precarious and underpaid labour. We demand fair and fixed remuneration, regularisation of service conditions, and comprehensive social security coverage for all ASHA workers across the country.
