Regarding need to conduct the ongoing Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls in Andhra Pradesh in transparent and neutral manner-laid DR. GUMMA THANUJA RANI (ARAKU): The integrity of the electoral roll is vital for India's democracy. The process of revision must be transparent to ensure no genuine voter is excluded. However, the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) in Andhra Pradesh has exposed serious procedural lapses. Official records show enumeration forms were distributed but never reached voters in several areas. Digitization remains uneven, and many Booth Level Officers were unavailable during notified hours due to excessive workloads. Furthermore, voter verification has been hampered in remote, forest, and tribal regions. The ongoing SIR exercise must be transparent, error free and accurate so that the neutrality of the revision process could be maintained. Any wrongful exclusion undermines public confidence in free and fair elections. I urge the Ministry of Law and Justice to take up the matter with the Election Commission of India, extend the ongoing Special Intensive Revision (SIR) exercise by one month, ensure the revision process is conducted in a fair, transparent, and politically neutral manner, and ensure that no eligible voter's name is deleted without due verification and adequate opportunity to respond.
