Regarding need to ensure connectivity of upcoming Thane High-Speed Rail Station with the existing regional transport network-Laid DR. SHRIKANT EKNATH SHINDE (KALYAN): I wish to draw the urgent attention of the Hon'ble Minister of Railways towards the critical need for integrating the upcoming Thane High-Speed Rail (HSR) station with the region's existing transport network. While I thank the Government for approving the Thane Integral Ring Metro, a major connectivity gap remains regarding the Thane HSR station under the Mumbai-Ahmedabad High-Speed Rail project. Unlike the BKC station, Thane HSR station is situated at a remote location between Diva and Dombivli, currently lacking adequate links to Metro or Suburban railway lines. To maximize ridership and ensure utility for the dense populations of Thane, Navi Mumbai, and Kalyan, seamless feeder connectivity is imperative. I strongly recommend the Ministry to consider three specific connector corridors: a 9.75 km link connecting the HSR station to Thane Junction (Metro and Rail, a 4.1 km link to Kopar (Dombivli) Railway Station, and a 3.2 km connectivity to the Sonarpada Metro Line-12 station. These connections will transform the HSR station into a true multi-modal hub, significantly reducing travel barriers and boosting socio-economic growth in the region. I earnestly urge the Ministry of Railways and NHSRCL to grant in-principal approval and extend financial support for these integration projects so that a Detailed Project Report (DPR) can be initiated immediately to benefit millions of commuters.
