Regarding Need to establish a dedicated Trauma Care Facility Centre in Amalapuram Parliamentary Constituency, Andhra Pradesh-Laid SHRI G. M. HARISH BALAYOGI (AMALAPURAM): Amalapuram Parliamentary Constituency is facing a growing burden of road accidents and preventable fatalities, yet it lacks a dedicated trauma care facility. In 2024, the constituency reported 418 accidents that caused 144 deaths, while in 2025 there were 351 accidents but fatalities rose to 196, reflecting a 37 percent increase. This disturbing trend indicates serious gaps in timely emergency and trauma care. A large proportion of these accidents occur on NH-216, a high-speed corridor passing through the constituency that has emerged as a hotspot for serious and fatal crashes. Despite this escalating public safety challenge, Amalapuram currently depends only on Area Hospitals and Community Health Centres, none of which are equipped or staffed to manage trauma, polytrauma, or high-acuity emergency cases. The nearest trauma care facility is located nearly 60 kilometres away, resulting in critical loss of the golden hour for accident victims and significantly reducing survival chances. This infrastructure gap is directly contributing to avoidable deaths and long-term disabilities. I, therefore, urge the Government to sanction and establish a dedicated Trauma Care Facility in Amalapuram Parliamentary Constituency and to upgrade the Amalapuram Area Hospital into a Level-II or Level-III trauma centre with advanced equipment, trained specialists, and round-the-clock emergency response services.
