Regarding Need to expedite completion of all pending Projects under Jal Jeevan Mission in Tripura East Parliamentary Constituency-Laid SHRIMATI KRITI DEVI DEBBARMAN (TRIPURA EAST): I would like to draw the attention of the Government to certain serious discrepancies in the implementation of works under the Jal Jeevan Mission in my Parliamentary Constituency, Tripura East. The constituency comprises predominantly hilly and remote areas and continues to face acute water scarcity. While the Jal Jeevan Mission is of critical importance for the people of this region, instances of improper implementation and misreporting by certain executing agencies have been observed, which are adversely affecting the intended outcomes of the scheme. Further, the maintenance of completed water supply projects has emerged as a major concern. In several cases, this is attributable to negligence on the part of the implementing agencies, and in some instances, to the difficult geographical terrain of the region. As a result, many projects remain non-functional or partially functional, causing hardship to the local population. I therefore request the Hon'ble Minister of Jal Shakti to conduct a detailed review of the status of Jal Jeevan Mission works in Tripura East, ensure time-bound completion of all pending projects, and take appropriate action against agencies found responsible for negligence or misreporting, so that the people of the region may receive assured and sustainable drinking water supply.
