Regarding need to expedite establishment of a 50-bedded AYUSH Hospital at Achyutapur in Remuna, Balasore, Odisha-Laid SHRI PRATAP CHANDRA SARANGI (BALASORE): I would like to draw the attention of the Government to a matter of serious concern relating to the development of AYUSH healthcare and education infrastructure in Balasore Lok Sabha Constituency of Odisha. A proposal for the establishment of a 50-bedded AYUSH Hospital at Achyutapur, Remuna Balasore had earlier received approval, and a token grant was also sanctioned. However, despite the lapse of considerable time, no visible progress has taken place at the project site. The absence of follow-up action has deprived the people of the region of much-needed AYUSH healthcare facilities and has led to growing public dissatisfaction. In addition to this, there are several long-standing and genuine demands of the local population related to the AYUSH sector These include the establishment of an Ayurvedic Outpatient Department at the District Headquarters Hospital Balasore, which would greatly strengthen integrative healthcare services, the setting up of a Government Ayurvedic Medical College in Balasore to promote education and research in traditional systems of medicine and the introduction of Yoga courses, both Diploma and Postgraduate Diploma, at Fakir Mohan University, Balasore, in order to encourage wellness education and create skilled human resources. I therefore request the Hon'ble Minister concerned to be pleased to consider these pending issues and to facilitate appropriate directions to the concerned authorities for their timely resolution, keeping in view the larger interests of public health and regional development.
