Regarding need to sanction the revised project with regard to the development of Greenfield National Highway No-744 in Kollam Parliamentary Constituency, Kerala-laid SHRI N. K. PREMACHANDRAN (KOLLAM): The development of the Greenfield Highway NH-744 in my Parliamentary Constituency, Kollam has come to a standstill. While the land acquisition process was initiated and 3D notifications were issued for certain villages, acquisition in other villages remains at different stages. Due to prolonged delays in the disbursement of compensation, affected landowners are facing severe hardship, and the issue has become a major public concern. The delay is primarily due to administrative lapses by both the Central and State Governments regarding the sharing of land acquisition costs, royalty, and GST. Consequently, the project was removed from the Bharat Mala Programme. Although a proposal for inclusion under a new project has been submitted, it is still pending and has not been sanctioned. As a result, the development of NH-744, continues to be delayed. I urge the Government to sanction the revised project, ensure compensation, complete land acquisition, and execute it promptly. ________ HON. CHAIRPERSON: Item No. 21, discussion on the Union Budget.
