Regarding need to withdraw the proposed trade agreement
with USA to safeguard the interest of farmers of the
country-laid
PROF. SOUGATA RAY (DUM DUM): The trade deal with U S
would destroy the farmers and will undermine the country?s
agriculture sector. The American farmers benefit from the deal.
Massive farmers protests will ensue and the Government will force
to roll back the deal if it went ahead. There are concerns over
reported commitments to reduce tariff on agriculture products and
to import American goods worth 500 Bn. Dollars. I urge upon the
government to scrap the proposed anti-farmer deal with USA.
