NOTIFICATIONS BY GOVERNMENT MUNICIPAL ADMINISTRATION AND WATER SUPPLY DEPARTMENT REMOVAL FROM CHAIRMANSHIP ERODE DISTRICT – KODUMUDI TOWN PANCHAYAT – “NO CONFIDENCE MOTION” AGAINST CHAIRPERSON, KODUMUDI TOWN PANCHAYAT COUNCIL – RESOLUTION PASSED – UNDER THE TAMIL NADU URBAN LOCAL BODIES ACT, 1998. [G.O. Ms. No.109, Municipal Administration and Water Supply [TP-2], 23rd June 2025, ஆனி 9, விசுவாாவாசு, திருவாள்ளுவார் ஆண்டு-2056.] No. II(2)/MAWS/539(w)/2025. WHEREAS, a written notice of the intention to make a motion expressing want of confidence in Tmt.S.Thilagavathi, Chairperson, Kodumudi Selection Grade Town Panchayat, Erode District, signed by twelve members, out of the sanctioned strength of fifteen members of the said Council, together with a copy of the motion proposed to be made and a written statement of charges against the said Chairperson have been delivered to Executive Officer, Kodumudi Selection Grade Town Panchayat, Erode district in person by two Councillors as required under sub-section (2) of section 51 of the Tamil Nadu Urban Local Bodies Act, 1998 (Tamil Nadu Act 9 of 1999); AND WHEREAS, the Executive Officer, Kodumudi Selection Grade Town Panchayat caused a copy of the statement of charges along with a copy of the notice of motion to be delivered, to the said Chairperson Tmt.S.Thilagavathi and she submitted her reply to the charges; AND WHEREAS, a motion expressing want of confidence in Tmt.S.Thilagavathi, Chairperson, Kodumudi Selection Grade Town Panchayat, Erode District had been carried out with a support of twelve members out of the sanctioned strength of fifteen members of the said Town Panchayat in the meeting convened by the Executive Officer, Kodumudi Selection Grade Town Panchayat, Erode District on the 21st March, 2025 after following the procedures specified in the said section of 51 and the copy of the minutes of the meeting together with a copy of the motion and the result of the voting thereon, on the termination of the meeting have been forwarded by the Executive Officer under sub-section (11) of the said section 51 to Government; [1] Ex-II-2—(318)2 TAMIL NADU GOVERNMENT GAZETTE EXTRAORDINARY NOW, THEREFORE, in exercise of the powers conferred by sub-section (12) of section 51 of the Tamil Nadu Urban Local Bodies Act, 1998 (Tamil Nadu Act 9 of 1999), the Governor of Tamil Nadu, hereby removes Tmt.S.Thilagavathi, Chairperson, Kodumudi Selection Grade Town Panchayat, Erode District from the Office of the Chairperson of the said Town Panchayat Council with immediate effect.
