O R D E R :
In the letter read above, the Director General, Institute of Urban
Transport (India) has stated that the Institute of Urban Transport (India) was
established in May, 1997 as a premier professional non-profit organization under
the purview of the Ministry of Urban Development, Govt. of India. The Secretary
to the Ministry is the ex-officio President of the Institute. The objective of the
Institute is to promote the state-of-the-art in Urban Transport. The institute,
assists the Ministry of Urban Development, Government of India, in a variety of
professional activities. He further stated that Ministry of Urban Development,
Government of India, New Delhi wishes to include suitable number of
representatives of the States and Union Territories to the Governing Council of
IUT(India). The tenure of Governing Council is two years i.e., 2012 and 2013.
The Director General, has therefore requested the Government to nominate the
name of an officer who will represent the State Government/ Union Territory in
the Governing Council of IUT (India)
2. Government, after examination of the matter hereby nominate Sri N.V.S.
Reddy, IRAS., Managing Director, Hyderabad Metro Rail Ltd., as representative of
Government of Andhra Pradesh, to the Governing Council of Institute of Urban
Transport (India), New Delhi for a period of two years i.e., 2012 – 2013.
