Read: From the Commissioner, Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation, Hyderabad, letter No.1936/AC(A)/OP5/ GHMC/12, dated 21.02.2012. -- o0o -- O R D E R: In the letter read above, the Commissioner, Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation, Hyderabad has informed that the GHMC has proposed certain infrastructure developmental and city beautification works for Hosting 11th Meeting of the Conference of Parties (CoP-11) to the prestigious event of Convention of Biological Diversity (CBD) being participated by the Ministerial delegation of 190 countries. It is proposed to take up all components of the proposed improvements on all roads except Strengthening and Re-carpeting of BT road on the roads pertaining to R&B Department and National Highways and requested to accord administrative sanction for `400.04 crores as recommended by the General Body of GHMC held on 25.02.2012 based on the Standing Committee Resolution No.357, dated 23.02.2012. He has also stated that in view of the scheduled meeting of CoP-11 in the month of October, 2012 and to complete the proposed works in time, the administrative sanction may be accorded by the Government. The works are proposed to be taken up from GHMC internal resources for the time being. 2. Government after careful examination of the matter and in view of the urgency for taking up infrastructure improvement and beautification of the GHMC, hereby accord administrative sanction for an amount of `400.04 crores (Rupees four hundred crores and four lakhs only) to the Commissioner, Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation, Hyderabad subject to condition that the said amount shall be met from their own funds for taking up infrastructure improvement and beautification of the GHMC for Hosting of 11th Meeting of the Conference of Parties (CoP-11) to the prestigious event of Convention of Biological Diversity (CBD) being participated by the Ministerial delegation of 190 countries. 3. The Commissioner, Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation, Hyderabad shall take further necessary action in the matter accordingly.
