The Commissioner of Printing Stationery and Stores Purchase, Hyderabad is requested to furnish 50 copies of the Gazette containing the following notification to the Government:- N O T I F I C A T I O N Whereas, the services connected with the affairs of the State in relation to the maintenance of water supply and distribution thereof is an essential service as defined in Section 2(1)(a)(i) of the Andhra Pradesh Essential Services Maintenance Act, 1971 (Andhra Pradesh Act No.20 of 1971). And whereas, the Government have prohibited strikes in Hyderabad Metropolitan Water Works & Sewerage Board for a period of six months vide notification issued in G.O.Rt.No.1150, M.A. & U.D. (C) Department, dated 12.09.2011 with effect from 28.09.2011. The said period of six months expires on 27.03.2012 . And whereas, the Government are satisfied in public interest that it is necessary and expedient to prohibit strikes in the Hyderabad Metropolitan Water Supply and Sewerage Board for a further period of six months. P.T.O.:: 2 :: Now, therefore, in exercise of the powers conferred by sub-section (1) of Section 3 of the Andhra Pradesh Essential Services Maintenance Act, 1971 (Andhra Pradesh Act No.20 of 1971), the Government of Andhra Pradesh hereby prohibits strikes in all services connected with the maintenance of Water Supply and distribution in the Hyderabad Metropolitan Water Supply and Sewerage Board for a period of six months with effect from 28.03.2012.
