Seeking comments on Clause 8 of the JERC for the State of Goa and UTS (Salary, Allowances and other Conditions of Service of Chairperson and Member) Rules 2007
The Ministry of Power, Government of India, issued a notification in New Delhi on January 2026, to amend the Joint Electricity Regulatory Commission for Union Territories except Delhi (Salary, Allowances and other Conditions of Service of Chairperson and Member) Rules, 2007. These rules, called the Joint Electricity Regulatory Commission for Union Territories except Delhi (Salary, Allowances and other Conditions of Service of Chairperson and Member) Amendment Rules, 2025, come into force on the date of their publication in the Official Gazette. In rule 8 of the 2007 Rules, the words "Employees' Provident Fund and Miscellaneous Provisions Act 1952" shall be substituted for the words "Contributory Provident Fund (India) Rules, 1962". This notification is issued under clauses (2) and (3) of section 89 of the Electricity Act 2003 (36 of 2003). The original 2007 rules were published in the Gazette of India, part II, Section 3, sub-section(i), vide notification number G.S.R. 211(E), dated March 19, 2007, and amended vide Notification number G.S.R. 488(E), dated July 13, 2021. NOTIFICATION
New Delhi, the January, 2026.
G.S.R….. .- In exercise of the powers conferred by clauses (2) and (3) of section 89 of the
Electricity Act 2003 (36 of 2003), the Central Government hereby makes the following rules to
amend the Joint Electricity Regulatory Commission for Union Territories except Delhi (Salary,
Allowances and other Conditions of Service of Chairperson and Member) Rules, 2007, namely:-
1.- (1) These rules may be called the Joint Electricity Regulatory Commission for Union
Territories except Delhi (Salary, Allowances and other Conditions of Service of Chairperson and
Member) Amendment Rules, 2025.
(2) They shall come into force on the date of their publication in the Official Gazette.
2. In the Joint Electricity Regulatory Commission for Union Territories except Delhi (Salary,
Allowances and other Conditions of Service of Chairperson and Members) Rules, 2007, in rule
8, for the words “Contributory Provident Fund (India) Rules, 1962",”, the words "Employees'
Provident Fund and Miscellaneous Provisions Act 1952" shall be substituted.
